Grace is available to all of us who choose it. We all deserve to live each day in a state of Grace. This site will discuss the presence of a power greater than ourselves whom many of us choose to call God. With your input, we will define grace and discuss how to achieve it.
You are in relatively good health and you are ready to welcome challenges while enjoying the fruits of a life well-lived. Keep in mind, that the term “a life well-lived” doesn’t mean you never made mistakes. It doesn’t mean you were blissfully happy throughout the years past, and you have a well-adjusted family who are eternally grateful to you. Maybe you do, indeed. Whatever your situation today, you did the best you could with the hand you were dealt. You deserve to be treated with dignity.
Sometimes when we reach a certain age, we let others determine how we should conduct ourselves. We can be available and pleasing to our families and loved ones without denying that we are still individuals who have personal lives, as well. We can sing, dance and enjoy intimacy no matter how old we are. We have earned the right to have the same privileges and privacy as any other adult. Find enjoyment and do not feel guilty!
Older adults need a place to share triumphs and concerns that both enlighten and inform..
This is a place to share funny and sometimes annoying aspects of life today.
If you have a problem and do not know where to find a solution, maybe someone here has an answer.
We will offer suggestions from well-know authors, celebrities and, maybe you, on how to be your best self.
Getting older is good news in most cases. Let’s face it, by the time we are the age of retirement, we have had our fill of drama so when the younger generations fuss over the minor imperfections of life, we try to look concerned while we are actually thinking about something pleasant. Many of us start our day in gratitude for good health, good friends and family. We’ve learned to accept our losses and are thankful for the positives in our lives. Sometimes it isn’t until later years that we understand the full impact of the phrase, “This too shall pass."
Most older adults are enjoying good health. In retirement there are more opportunities for exercise and we’re making better food choices because most fast food items have lost their appeal. We’re eating with health in mind and not just looking for something fast and easy.
Maintaining a positive attitude about ourselves and life, in general, is crucial to health at any age. We’ll call on some experts to explore the mind/body connection and what we will find, is that those who have studied the effect the mind has on the body, will say that what we believe about ourselves will come to pass. We have all had a teacher along the way who said, “if you think you can’t do it, you probably can’t, but you will succeed if you first believe that you can.”
Last, but certainly not least, is that older adults have developed strong belief systems about God, or whatever individuals determine is the master of their fate. Looking back over a lifetime of triumphs, mishaps, and just coming through the struggles over losses of loved ones tends to humble the most independent of us. The realization that we have not come through it all alone is most clear at the time of maturity. God bless us all.
